The white ghutra from Bruges is no longer the best that men can wear, as the ghutra is a white piece of cloth made of light natural cotton that is tightly fastened to the head.
The keffiyeh, also known as the ghutra, shemagh, hatta, mashaddah, qadadah, or “jamdana” in the Euphrates Basin, is a head covering usually made of cotton or linen, and decorated in multiple colors, most notably red, white, and black. The keffiyeh is square in shape, often folded into a triangular shape, and worn on the head and sometimes on the shoulder.
